What an incredible response!

UPDATE, 15/03/2026:

Ninety of us told the Inner West Council that we want to see the Calvert St carpark turned into Marrickville Town Square!

Council ran a survey from late 2025 until 15th March 2026 on how to allocate infrastructure funding, and the people have spoken — this is what community support looks like.

How to make a subsmission:

1. Go to the Council’s consultation page.
   .

2. You need to be logged in for this, so first click the ‘Log In / Join’ button at the top right of the page and log in.
   .
   If you don’t have an account, you’ll need to create one. It’s worth it if you want to have a say via the website at any time in the future.
   .

3. Scroll down to the ‘Find out more and have your say’ heading, and click the second tab: ‘Share your ideas on a map’ (on a mobile, this is a drop-down menu).
   .

4. Scroll or use the search bar to find the Calvert St Carpark on the map (the big cluster of dark green markers is us!).
   .

5. Click on the ‘Add marker’ button in the bottom-right of the map, then click anywhere in the carpark area. A box will pop up.
   .

6. From the drop-down menu, select ‘Town centres and public areas’, and select the ‘Creating new infastructure’ checkbox (yes there is a typo on the page).
   .

7. In the comment box, express your support for converting the carpark into a public space (add as much detail as you like).
   .

8. Enter your screen name (this will be displayed publicly. It doesn’t have to be your real name) and email address (this will not be displayed publicly) then press ‘Submit’ and you’re done! Legendary!

You can drop as many pins as you like for other projects too.
